Patient Survey Results

The Patient survey results highlighted that Angel Hill is above all the national benchmarks except on questions 13: How easy is it to get through to the practice on the phone and question 17: How easy is it to book ahead.

We have changed the reception staffing to improve the response time and swiftness in answering the calls.

We continue to encourage patients to use the automatic appointment booking system, Patient Partner over the phone and Patient Access ia the Internet. We are also constantly monitoring the number of appointments that are available to book ahead and book on the day and how these are proportioned out.

Angel Hill Surgery would like to thank all the patients that took part in completing this questionnaire.

We plan to run another questionnaire in August 2017.

Average pay for GPs at Angel Hill Surgery

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Angel Hill Surgery in the last financial year was £86,924 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 5 full time GPs, 5 part time GPs and 0 locums who have worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

Patient Participation Group

Angel Hill Surgery has a Patient Participation Group that we communicate with at least annually to report to us on how we are working and also what they would like us to do better.

We would like to expand this group so that we can reflect all groups of patients we have registered at the surgery. Therefore, if you would like to be part of this group, please email WSCCG.AngelHillPPG@nhs.net

Email/Text messaging

We are in the process of establishing a new text and email service for patients. It would involve patient recall letters coming either by text or email. We would also look at switching on an appointmet reminder service by text for those individuals who request it.

Attached to this entry is a email/text messaging form for all patients who wish to use the system to complete. Please either hand in the completed form at Reception, or post it back to Lauren Thurston, Deputy Practice Manager at the surgery address.

Minor Injuries

Angel Hill Surgery, during our opening hours, are able to offer our patients a minor injuries service. This service in limited to those injuries that the individual can make their own way to the surgery.

Patients should note that if the injuries, that do not allow them to make their own way to the surgery, should attend A&E at West Suffiolk Hospital.

Also patients who do attend the surgery, may be referred to West Suffolk Hospital if it is considered that further investigations are required, or that the injury requires specialist care available in the hospital.

Repeat Prescriptions

The email address has been cancelled due to continuing issues with it. All patient that use this are encouraged to use Patient Access in place of the email address. Logging on details can be obtained from Reception.

Any issues regarding repeat prescriptions, please contact the dispensary on 01284 755555.

Named Doctor

All patients registered at Angel Hill Surgery are allocated a GP who will oversee their care. To obtain the name of this GP please ask on your next visit, or by telephone to Reception.

You can see any doctor in the surgery, this does not change that situation, it is an administrative process.
