The Surgery phones will be switched over to the 111 service on Thursday 21st June and again on Wednesday 19th September 2018 from 1 p.m.

The surgery will be open for collection of prescriptions, some clinics and booking of appointments and other Reception matters.

111 will be providing a doctor service from the surgery.

The closure has been arranged by West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group to allow for training.

Average pay for GPs at Angel Hill Surgery

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Angel Hill Surgery in the last financial year was £84,577 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 5 full time GPs, 6 part time GPs and 0 locums who have worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

Patient Participation Group

Angel Hill Surgery has a Patient Participation Group that we communicate with at least annually to report to us on how we are working and also what they would like us to do better.

We would like to expand this group so that we can reflect all groups of patients we have registered at the surgery. Therefore, if you would like to be part of this group, please email WSCCG.AngelHillPPG@nhs.net

Email/Text messaging

We are in the process of establishing a new text and email service for patients. It would involve patient recall letters coming either by text or email. We would also look at switching on an appointmet reminder service by text for those individuals who request it.

A email/text messaging form for all patients who wish to use the system is available at the surgery, please speak to reception if you do not wish to receive email or text messages.

Sexual health services

Healthy Suffolk have produced an update on what services are available in Suffolk regarding sexual health. The following link will take you to their page (please cut and paste into your search bar).

Minor Injuries

Angel Hill Surgery, during our opening hours, are able to offer our patients a minor injuries service. This service in limited to those injuries that the individual can make their own way to the surgery.

Patients should note that if the injuries, that do not allow them to make their own way to the surgery, should attend A&E at West Suffiolk Hospital.

Also patients who do attend the surgery, may be referred to West Suffolk Hospital if it is considered that further investigations are required, or that the injury requires specialist care available in the hospital.

Repeat Prescriptions

The email address has been cancelled due to continuing issues with it. All patient that use this are encouraged to use Patient Access in place of the email address. Logging on details can be obtained from Reception.

Any issues regarding repeat prescriptions, please contact the dispensary on 01284 755555.

Named Doctor

All patients registered at Angel Hill Surgery are allocated a GP who will oversee their care. To obtain the name of this GP please ask on your next visit, or by telephone to Reception.

You can see any doctor in the surgery, this does not change that situation, it is an administrative process.

Health Promotion

Your health is important to us and with the correct information together we can make a difference to your health and wellbeing. Therefore we will provide you with information regarding improving your health and wellbeing and also provide some displays and information to offer support and assistance.
